A robust fact find is intended to gather both hard facts and soft facts. Hard facts cover objective information such as income, assets, liabilities, tax status, time horizon, dependants, and existing products. Soft facts cover subjective but essential information such as the client's goals, priorities, knowledge and experience, and critically their attitude to risk and capacity for loss. If the process is restricted to hard facts only, the adviser may understand the client's financial position but not how the client will behave when markets fall, what level of volatility they can tolerate, or what trade-offs they are willing to accept to meet objectives. This creates a significant suitability risk: a technically affordable portfolio may still be unsuitable if it causes the client to panic-sell, abandon the strategy, or suffer an unacceptable level of anxiety. CISI exam framing often highlights that suitability is not purely numeric. Understanding risk tolerance, capacity for loss, and behavioural preferences requires soft facts, and failing to capture these increases the risk of inappropriate recommendations and poor client outcomes.

A structured financial planning process is designed to move from understanding the client to delivering and maintaining a suitable plan. The Financial Planning Standards Board process includes steps such as establishing and defining the relationship, gathering information including goals and data, analysing and evaluating the client's financial status, developing and presenting recommendations, implementing the recommendations, and monitoring and reviewing the plan over time. Analysing the client's financial status is therefore a core step because it turns raw fact find data into an assessment of affordability, priorities, constraints, and gaps. Challenging risk appetite is not a formal named step in the framework, even though risk profiling is an important activity within information gathering and analysis. Minimising the client's tax burden is not a required step title and would be a possible objective or consideration within the recommendations, not the process itself. Organising a client's financial affairs may be an outcome of advice, but it is not the recognised step in the FPSB sequence. The exam focus is recognising the disciplined process and selecting the option that matches a defined step.

Insider dealing arises when a person who possesses inside information uses it by acquiring or disposing of financial instruments, or by attempting to do so, or by recommending or inducing another person to deal.
Commodity derivatives such as exchange-traded futures can fall within the scope of market abuse regimes when traded on relevant venues, and the definition of inside information includes precise, non-public information likely to have a significant price effect. In this scenario the trader receives unpublished, price- sensitive information about a major grain supplier and then trades grain futures as a direct result. That is the hallmark of using inside information to deal. Importantly, the offence is based on the act of dealing while in possession of inside information, not on whether a profit is ultimately made. The holding period is also irrelevant; dealing can occur even if the contract is later held to expiry. The incorrect options contain common traps: treating commodity futures as outside scope, requiring profit, or implying that expiry removes the issue.
The correct conclusion is that insider trading has been committed regardless of the eventual outcome.

Expansionary monetary policy is implemented to stimulate economic activity, typically when growth is weak or inflation is below target. Central banks achieve this by making money cheaper and more available, most commonly by lowering policy interest rates and or injecting liquidity through tools such as asset purchases.
Lower interest rates reduce the cost of borrowing for households and businesses and can encourage spending, investment, and refinancing activity. They can also reduce returns on cash and high-quality bonds, encouraging investors to move into riskier assets, supporting asset prices and easing financial conditions. In addition, lower interest rates can weaken the domestic currency, improving export competitiveness and further supporting demand.
