CME (Check Point Multi-Cloud Environment) is a solution designed to manage clusters where the nodes are distributed across two different cloud environments. It enables unified security management across multiple clouds, providing visibility and control over security policies, network traffic, and threat prevention in a multi-cloud infrastructure.

Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS) in Azure are designed to deploy and manage sets of identical virtual machines. VMSS enables automatic scaling of the number of VM instances based on demand. This allows you to manage large numbers of VMs efficiently and ensures that your applications have enough resources to handle traffic without manual intervention.

In cloud environments, particularly when using IPv6, Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP) is used during a ClusterXL failover scenario to propagate the new cluster node. NDP helps in updating the network to reflect the new node and ensures that traffic is correctly forwarded to the active node in the cluster. Unlike traditional on-premises environments that use Gratuitous ARP (GARP), cloud environments typically rely on NDP for handling failovers in IPv6 networks.
