Disable: Disable Dead Peer Detection.
On-idle: Trigger Dead Peer Detection when no IPsec traffic is received.
On-demand: Trigger Dead Peer Detection when no IPsec traffic is received AND FortiGate has been sending IPsec traffic. On-demand is the default setting.

The SD-WAN traffic log does not display an SD-WAN rule name because the traffic is being forwarded by the implicit SD-WAN rule. If no explicit SD-WAN rule matches the traffic, FortiGate falls back to the default implicit rule, which balances traffic based on the configured strategy (such as volume or sessions). Since no explicit rule applied, the rule name field remains blank in the logs.

Checking the active users list verifies if FortiGate correctly associates the user with their IP address, ensuring proper policy enforcement for internet access.

Apple FaceTime normally falls under Video/Audio and could be blocked by the Excessive- Bandwidth filter. However, in this configuration, an override is applied under the Apple vendor filter with Monitor action. Overrides take precedence over general filter actions. Therefore, FaceTime will not be blocked; instead, it will be monitored, and since only a few calls are made (not excessive bandwidth usage), it will be allowed based on the Apple filter configuration.

The sniffer output shows that packets from the web client are reaching the FortiGate and being forwarded to the web server, but there is no indication that the web server is responding. To troubleshoot this issue, executing a debug flow will help analyze the traffic path and pinpoint where the problem might be occurring, such as a possible issue in firewall policy or route settings that is causing the server not to respond correctly.
