GitHub provides runners that you can use to run your jobs, or you can host your own runners.
Each GitHub-hosted runner is a new virtual machine (VM) hosted by GitHub with the runner application and other tools preinstalled, and is available with Ubuntu Linux, Windows, or macOS operating systems. When you use a GitHub-hosted runner, machine maintenance and upgrades are taken care of for you.

Key Utilities of GitHub Mobile Notifications
*-> Quiet Hours Scheduling: Set custom days and hours for push notifications within your GitHub Mobile Settings to maintain a healthy work-life balance and avoid off-hours alerts.
Real-Time Push Alerts: Receive instant updates on your smartphone when someone @mentions your username, requests a pull request (PR) review, or assigns you a new task.
Inbox Triage and Cleanup: Quickly mark notifications as read, save them for later, or organize them using custom filters to declutter your workflow while away from your desk.
Pull Request Review Tracking: Stay informed on your active PRs by receiving automated push updates the moment a team member approves, comments on, or requests changes to your code.
Deployment Approvals: Approve critical system deployments (such as Vercel or Lovable environments) straight from a push notification to prevent pipeline bottlenecks.
Live Coding Agent Tracking: Monitor the live progress of GitHub Copilot coding agents or third- party agent sessions via native Live Activities directly on your lock screen.
