Git's version control model is based on snapshots, not tracking differences of a file.
Git records the entire contents of each file in every commit.
Git commit
The git commit command captures a snapshot of the project's currently staged changes.
Committed snapshots can be thought of as "safe" versions of a project-Git will never change them unless you explicitly ask it to.
At a high-level, Git can be thought of as a timeline management utility. Commits are the core building block units of a Git project timeline. Commits can be thought of as snapshots or milestones along the timeline of a Git project. Commits are created with the git commit command to capture the state of a project at that point in time. Git Snapshots are always committed to the local repository.

This setting prevents Copilot from showing you code suggestions that are identical or very similar to code found in public GitHub repositories, helping to avoid potential licensing issues by providing a way to opt-out of this feature.

The foundational purpose of a pull request (PR) in the GitHub flow is to propose changes, invite team feedback, and initiate a transparent code review process before any code is merged into the main branch.
Instead of treating code review as a final hurdle, the GitHub flow uses pull requests as a continuous collaboration space.
