Patients with narcissistic and borderline personality disorders are often prescribed dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). The goal is to help the patient learn self-regulation with emotions and increase stress tolerance. Medication by itself does not allow someone to develop insight into the problem. DBT also stresses self-management, mindfulness, and interpersonal skills.

There are three phases of a therapeutic relationship between a nurse practitioner and their patient:
1. Introduction
2. Working
3. Termination
During the termination phase, the following actions usually take place:
* Reviewing the patient's progress toward objectives
* Establishing a long-term plan of care
* Focusing on self-management strategies
* Disengaging from the patient relationship
* Referring the patient to other services as needed

The main goal of CBITS is to provide students who have experienced trauma with the tools and skills they need to cope with their feelings and reactions to a traumatic event. This intervention is designed to help students understand the impact of trauma on their thoughts and behaviors and to learn new ways to manage their symptoms.
While the goal of CBITS is to reduce the impact of trauma on the student, it is unrealistic to expect that all trauma symptoms will be eliminated. The program is not designed to prevent future traumatic events from occurring, nor is it intended to encourage students to report traumatic events to school staff and administration.

Foster care is a system in which a minor has been placed into a ward, group home, or private home of a state-certified caregiver, referred to as a "foster parent" or with a family member approved by the state. The placement of the child is normally arranged through the government or a social service agency. This system provides an alternative living arrangement for underage persons who legally cannot or choose not to live with their biological families or guardians.
The duration of foster care can vary, ranging from days to years. It may be temporary, providing a safe environment for the child while efforts are made to reunite them with their biological family, or it could be a more permanent solution if reuniting with the biological family is not possible or not in the best interest of the child. In some cases, long-term foster care can lead to adoption.
In cases of abuse or neglect, family and child protective services intervene and assume guardianship of vulnerable children and adolescents. They make decisions regarding the best possible environment for the child, which often leads to placement in approved foster care environments.
While there are other alternative living arrangements such as group home treatments, adoption, and after-care, foster care is often the preferred choice for underage individuals who cannot live with their biological families or guardians. It provides them with a family setting, stability, and a chance for a better future.

A behavior report card is a behavioral tool commonly used to treat ADHD. This tool often bridges the gap between school, therapy, and home as an attempt to incentivize certain behaviors.
Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Daytrana, Concerta) is an effective medication for treating ADHD, but it is not a behavioral tool. Reframing negative experiences and interpreting maladaptive behaviors are not useful in treating ADHD.
