Nursing informatics is the integration of nursing knowledge with information processing and communication technology to support the health of people worldwide.
Medical informatics, health technology, and information technology are not specific to nursing and describe other types or aspects of information processing and communication technology.

In 1965, Dr. Loretta Ford (a public health nurse) and Dr. Henry Silver (a pediatrician) established the first nurse practitioner program at the University of Colorado. This program educated pediatric nurse practitioners with a focus on disease prevention and health promotion. Over the next decade, nurse practitioner schools proliferated across the country. Today, there are over 205,000 nurse practitioners.

Clients with ODD are the opposite of attention-seeking; they present as avoidant, argumentative, and defiant. Clients with BPD (borderline personality disorder) are needy and attention-seeking.
Oppositional defiant disorder is an enduring pattern of angry or irritable mood and argumentative, defiant, or vindictive behavior lasting at least six months with at least four associated symptoms:
* Loses temper
* Touchy or easily annoyed
* Angry or resentful
* Argues with authority
* Actively defies or refuses to comply with requests or rules from authority figures
* Blames others
* Deliberately annoys others
* Spiteful or vindictive

Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are funded by both state and federal taxes.
Medicare, Tricare, and the Veterans Health Administration are all funded by federal taxes.
