Failure to successfully resolve the psychosocial stage of Intimacy vs. Isolation is associated with the development of schizoid personality disorder.
Erik Erikson's stages of psychosocial development:
* Trust vs. Mistrust: birth to 12-18 months
* Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt: 12-18 months to 3 years
* Initiative vs. Guilt: 3 to 5-6 years
* Industry vs. Inferiority: 5-6 years to adolescence
* Identity vs. Role Confusion: adolescence to adulthood
* Intimacy vs. Isolation: adulthood
* Generativity vs. Stagnation: middle adulthood
* Ego Integrity vs. Despair: late adulthood
Failure to resolve the Generativity vs. Stagnation stage is associated with the development of a mid-life crisis. Failure to resolve the Industry vs. Inferiority stage is associated with creative inhibition. Failure to resolve the Initiative vs. Guilt stage is associated with conversion disorder, phobias, and psychosomatic disorders.

A conflict of interest is a situation in which a person's financial, professional, or personal situation may affect or appear to affect the person's judgment in professional responsibilities. This includes healthcare decisions, research, and other matters, with the potential for personal or professional gain or advantage or disadvantage.

Panic disorders mimic fight-or-flight episodes and potentiate a response from the central nervous system. Attacks occur without warning and in the absence of any real danger. Panic attacks are more likely in women than in men. The anxiety builds in a short and self-limiting time within 10 minutes of onset. While anxiety does build during the onset of the attack, it does not typically increase in intensity throughout the entire attack. Changes in intensity during the attack typically relate to how the attack is addressed more than they do to the attack itself.

Interpersonal learning is one of the 10 curative factors of group therapy. Group therapy provides a safe space for personal interactions with others to allow for opportunities to learn about relationship dynamics.
Interpersonal learning allows participants to learn about vulnerability and intimacy with others in a shared, safe, and mentored space.
Universality is the discovery that others have similar circumstances, feelings, and responses. Group cohesiveness is an increased sense of belonging with the group. Increased development of social skills results when the group provides feedback on an individual's social skills.

Countertransference is a provider's emotional reaction to the client based on their experiences.
Transference is the displacement of feelings for significant people in the client's life to their PMHNP. While denial or projection may play a peripheral role in some instances of countertransference, neither of these options is correct.
